A short read here from USA Today. Microsoft may agree to no retaliation Do computer users need protection from Microsoft? Antitrust settlement talks between Microsoft and the government have yielded a key concession from the software giant, sources say - a promise that it will not retaliate against PC makers that choose not to feature the company's products. Microsoft has tentatively agreed not to retaliate against computer makers in any way - such as by denying marketing or technical support - for featuring rival software or refusing to ship Microsoft products. Such an agreement, if included in a final settlement, could fortify a proposed pact that critics believe is riddled with loopholes.
