Carpe, I agree with your strategy of "target shooting" leading favorites for the bounce. A basket of our best bouncers should recoup most or all losses very quickly. . .and you are right that the smart money will still be positioning for summer tech doldrums. . .since the big money STILL goes away to Europe or the Caribbean or wherever for the summer.

I was originally looking for a basket of 8 to 12 bouncing stocks. . . and it is true that it only takes about 3 or 4 winners to see some serious gains. . .provided the rest break even. . .Today's early morning bounce may have tipped the hand of those "in the know". . . and will get more of my attention.

I figure that many analysts already know which stocks will be next weeks winners. . . and those will be the first to move up. . .we need to be sensitive and jump on the first movers. . .to ride out that advantage.

I cannot wait until the new SEC regulation takes affect that provides equal access to news and earnings. . .where you and I will have the same access as brokerages and analysts. . . technically at least. . .But I would assume that there are those that make their money by tipping certain players early. . . and that will still not change, regardless of the new rules.

The biggest problem I see with the current tech selloff is the lack of panic. We need the panic to clue us in on where to start buying.
