SemiBull. Per the Senetek CEO, the autoinjector that Senetek had invented (ReliaJector) was a single dose throw-away that was simply too expensive to be used to treat ED. Senetek has not abandoned the Reliajector and they will continue to pursue other applications for this product because it does have some advantages (ease of use, speed and convenience) for certain medical problems where cost is less of an issue. For example, 90% of the people who suffer from severe physical shock from bee stings or food allergies, would only use a device like the Reliajector maybe once every 2 to 3 years. For those folks, the ease of use and quick access to the anti-venom because the ReliaJector would be equipped with pre loaded cartridges, is the benefit that they need. However, for ED patients who might use a syringe 2 to 3 times a week, cost is an issue. The injector that Senetek is procuring from Owen Mumford is a muti use injector with a replaceable needle. In the long haul, this is much less expensive for an ED patient who would require 100 to 150 injections year. Although Mr. Massino provided no numbers during the conference call, I would guess that this switch to the Owen Mumford injector will save most ED patients who use Invicorp, something in the range of $200 = $300/year while maintaining nearly the same profit margins for Senetek.
