Welllllll, I'm not sure I know. Maybe it's because most men I know (admittedly I seem to associate with those who think they are mucho macho LOL, whether true or no!) try not to show so much sensitivity.
Probably some kinda of hangup lingering on with those who managed to get this old. Also certain industries seem to be peopled by that specie ~ ie; mechanics, trucking, iron-working, metal fabrication, oil drilling, and others. You know, the old strong, silent, stereotype.
We( we? ) {yeah, I guess that description includes me} while sensitive and caring individuals, are usually surprised when a non-female person not only exhibits that tenderness, but talks about it. Maybe a generational thing. I bet Nihil or Neocon can explain it better.
