Pravin<< FWIW, nVidia could be good for a nice little short term trade. It was at $150 a couple of weeks ago. It is now more than $10 below where it was before the Xbox announcement. For the record, I just picked up 1000 shares @ 72.75. >>

I was a former nvidia long, bought in at 21 1/4 and sold after all the xbox hype. I think there is still serious downside potential here because they've yet to unveil their NV15 which is due out shortly. It looks like they may get technology leapfrogged, and if they do earnings will tank.

ATYT looks like a really solid graphics play (not playing in the biting edge of technology, so leapfrogging isn't a big problem) and they have by far the biggest revenues of any company. Also they've got the most diversification across the graphics sector, so they will probably benefit most from expanding use of graphics chips.

The only graphics stock I currently own is TDFX just because the upside is so large, and the downside is minimal (they're already like 1/10th of nvidia in market cap, and could easily regain graphics lead) However, I can't see them getting punished too much more even if they utterly fall apart.

I'd probably buy into ATYT at these price levels, but I've got all my money tied up in AMD ;)

Just a few thoughts on my take of the sector since I"ve been in and out of a few of the participants of late.
