good to hear from you.

I agree, in a runaway bull mkt as we have had (and continue to), taxman's strategy works great, much better than selling puts. but it's a matter of style.
some ppl only like to short stocks... whatever makes money.

I'll separate your 2 points: lognormal dist and BS.

a lognormal distribution is better at modelling the stock market than an normal distribution. is it perfect? of course not. close enuf in my book.

BS is accurate given accurate inputs. BS does not predict, it establishes a relationship between parameters at any given point in time. if the parameters are not correct, then the relationships are of course invalid.

I had a busy day today... actually ran out of money once... first time for me, it was actually somewhat amusing if I wasn't in the middle of a trade
(i'm not sure it wasn't a mistake tho)
