When Rod Canion, CPQ's founder, appeared at Richard Thalheimer's "Think Big" seminar, he told the story of how they got their name in the first place. And, if memory serves, he explained that their advertising agency disagreed with using name ending with a "Q". But those at CPQ liked the name, wanted to stress the compact nature of their product, and needed a unique name that they could trademark. So they used it anyway and, to paraphrase Rod, "it worked out pretty well" :-)

IMHO, if CPQ prevails, it will only be because SNDK doesn't care to fight the issue.
