How can you be so naive?

By itself, SEG's marketable securities (VRTS, SNDK, ZOOX, CVCI, LSHP) were part of a long series of taxable events that had no absolutely no effect on SEG's core operations --which were on the verge of improving dramatically -- except as a source of funds. The only credible pressure on SEG was the elevated value of VRTS given the state of the competition. To what extent that animated the mindless chatter about unbundling the VRTS stake, I do not know, but clearly, SEG's value would be more than the deal price if it retains those assets AND starts to make money given its competitive position at this E-A-R-L-Y stage of the industry upswing. By comparison, the semiconductor upswing underway is expected to last 3 years without even factoring in the bullish implications of wireless voice/data pacing networked PC penetration worldwide.

If you want VRTS shares that badly, go ahead and buy VRTS. I happen to think LSHP is a better buy thanks to the Dragon Systems giveaway.
