LOL!! NW--- I rarely short anything but must admit those shorting cpq are making money while I am deeply red. Also would not suggest anyone buy this until the teens which it is extremely UNlikely to see-- but possible as it is one comnpany that the mkt does not need to drive down,, it does a great job on its own. I would not even buy it there but only hope for a number slightly less than Andreas target in order to flush it from my holdings. Like others I only want rid of it but due to holding some other companies and some good trades this year I do not need the cash--
It is very difficult to understand why anyone could possibly believe in any more than low - mid 30s from cpq in any NEAR time frame,, irrelevant of the mkt. I still maintain it will be above 30 this year again.. possibly more than once. They have lost the innovative culture that made them great and current people at the helm
(there is little leadership) cannot move a good company beyond mediocracy. CPQ may get a boost from the experience of a new CFO-- Lets hope he brings leadership in addition to experience and an ability to communicate positively with WS. Teaching credentials would also be good!
Do not count the mkts out yet-- or even cpq. This is not the first time this year the NAS has seen a 10+% correction and recovered to set new records (well records for the NAS for cpq they well may be a thing of the past for the NEAR future at least). Hopefully TA is not reading this one correctly at this time. Possibly it is just the "Abbey" effect as many have grabbed onto her words and made them into an entirely different meaning.
Everyone makes mistakes if they play the mkt at times. The goal is to have more on the plus side than the minus side-- why do you find it so hard to realize this is one of those mistakes but feel in your time frame it may be OK? Once the realization cpq is a mistake-- one millions have made -- it is easier to play real companies and make a few bux while waiting for cpq to perform to your very lofty expectations... it will,, just TIME is required! There are other companies in the sector and general mkt-- REALLY!! CPQ is just not poised to be in favor for sometime. There is no reason for investor or institutional excitement. WS has generally told them to GOPAQ their IPAQ until it or something else proves they are are on the road back. The CPQ efect is major on you tonight after reading the tea leaves-- now you are seeing shorts and ghosts will be next. Take a breath,, in time all will be OK with CPQ and the mkts.. some just sooner than others.
