The $1.62 - $1.80 prices in Australia will be in Australian currency. That's about US$1 - US1.10. That's a bit more like it! But still wayyy over-priced to get a minute feeding-frenzy. Maybe Vodfone is doing a bit of price-elasticity testing in different markets to figure out where they can optimize income. Maybe Globalstar USA will do a decent price cut soon [on the minutes].
