They survived on inside info, fat fees, and an ignorant populace. That's changing. A friend of mine is a lab tech and was at the American Cardiology Convention snooping for scoop. He ran into a fund manager who asked him, "What do you think of mutual funds"? He told him he had no use for them. "If I wanted to get what the market gives I can pay $6.95 and buy SPYDRS" End of story. The mgr. says, "Well, your right about that" It's over for these guys.
