GUMM's recent claim that they have developed a "homeopathic gel matrix" that is effective in treating allergies demonstrates how far GUMM management is willing to abuse the loop holes afforded them by the homeopathic label. I am outraged and appalled that the FDA would allow claims like these to be made WITHOUT EVEN REVIEWING THE SCIENTIFIC DATA THAT SUPPOSEDLY SUPPORTS THESE CLAIMS!

On 3/13/00, GUMM stated the following in a SEC filing:

"Although we have not provided nor been requested to provide any scientific data to the FDA in support of claims regarding our products, we have obtained such scientific data for all
of our products."

I say PROVE IT. Why should scam artists be allowed to make any claim they want simply because THEY say the data supports them? The FDA and the FTC are severely negligent in their consumer protection duties by allowing these claims to go unchallenged.

I urge anyone that feels the same way to go to the FDA web site www.fda.gov and look up the number for your local Consumer Complaint Coordinator and call them. You can also complain directly to the FTC by writing or calling:
