"I want to arrange the things that interest me into a form that suits me.
I want a virtual link to google.com in a small space in the upper right corner.
I want a virtual link to dictionary.doc just below that.
I want a virtual link to my portfolio in the upper left.

You get the picture."

Hi gpowell- Yes, I get the picture. An interface as you've described would be awesome. Technically possible? Tell me more of what you know...or is it a dream?

Am I also dreaming, or was Excite@Home going to have some aspect of what you are talking about? I remember discussion from Bell or another ATHM person that said you would glide your cursor over an area of the home page and content would appear. No click necessary. A virtual connection, but to their content. I don't know about a virtual link to your "customized" site.

I went through the preview of @Home 2000 again. They seem to emphasis click, click, and more click. Probably no different than what we have now.

Subscribers and advertisers would beat the door down of the first company able to develop and deliver the virtual world as you've described.
