Driver Opens Door, Falls Out of Moving Car

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A Hollywood man was hurt early on Thursday when he fell out of his
moving car when he opened the door to throw out a beer can, police said.

Sam Otero, 30, was pursued for several blocks through the Hollywood district by police who said
they observed him driving erratically around 2 a.m.

``When the suspect tried to throw a beer can out of the car, he opened the door and fell out onto
the street,' said Lt. Thomas Ward.

Otero, who was taken to a hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises, was arrested on suspicion of
driving under the influence of alcohol.
