Hello David, SSR usually reaches subscribers between the 18th and 21st of the month. Their last featured stock was not AXC; in fact AXC was featured back in one of the mid- to late-1996 editions - I don't recall which one now. Upward (or downward) activity on SSR stocks: featured stocks or ones that are just simply updated, usually can be recognized about the 19th through 22nd of each month. Unless the printer (for the May issue)is trading (and it's too early for that - SSR goes to print about the 10th of the month), I believe the SSR and II group staffs are forbidden from trading prior to the public mailings. (This was stated somewhere in the publications - in the fine print)...

In April, the only mention of AXC was that it was a buy and that the fair market value was about $7.50. Other than that, far far (not a typo!) more information has been bandied on this thread, and most lately the latest 10Q, which is to what I would attribute any movement, if to anything written or spoken.

About the stock's Friday movement, I think Ken Holbert (sp? forgive me, Ken) recognized that this behavior is quite normal for AXC. Just look at the chart since September, 1996. It rose, then declined no less than 5 times in a somewhat uncanny repetitive way. Again, if the same holds true, it is quite possible for the stock to decline and rise sharply again, maybe a few times or more before any great news truly takes it up. The thing that's not too exciting about this latest blip is the volume. In at least four of the five similar behaviors before, the volume was greater (748K, 541K, 670K, etc.). I don't believe that AXC is really going anywhere this time either, but boy, would I love to be wrong!

Best regards - Ron
