1999 ANNUAL REPORT. Letter to shareholders rates at least a A+.
Several highlights:
1."New order booking trends at Helix were favorably each quarter of 1999, and we entered 2000 with a strong order momentum that has continued unabated".
2. Referring to GOLDLink. "We are convinced that this capability will create an important new source of profitable revenue generation for Helix as GOLDLink support is deployed across a large number of process-critical vacuum components in the year 2000 and beyond".
3. "Our investments in new product development are resulting in a stream of product offerings in support of strategic initiatives aimed at expanding the scope of our operations. A specific example is our work in in the etch segment of the wafer manufacturing business. Our growing line of On-Board Waterpumps and Turbo-Plus pumping systems recorded a number of key successes in 1999. Entering this year, we are very encouraged by our progress and the positive reports from our end-users. Customers through out the world are looking to Helix to upgrade current wafer fabrication facilities with these productivity-enhancing solutions. Beyond this lucrative retrofit market we see an important opportunity for these new Helix products on a range of new polysilicon and metal etch process tools manufactured by several equipment suppliers."
And JF the letter even includes superconducting filters.
4. "....has been working with the developers of super-conducting filter systems used in the cellular telephone base station market. While these systems have limited application to date, with the rapid growth of newer digital telephone networks the potential for this application appears to be increasing. Late last year we received an order for our proprietary cryogenic cooling systems from one of the leading filter system producers." (CDTS I betja) "This order calls for deliveries over the next 12 months and may be a precursor to an expanding business in future years."
I'm pretty sure you will enjoy going through the 1999 report. Regards... jtjackson
