T-414 A New Approach to VoDSL Presenters: Peter LeBlanc, senior director, business development, Aware Inc.; switch vendor TBA This presentation will demonstrate how ILECs can offer superior voice over DSL (VoDSL) to small office/home office (SOHO) and residential customers for a fraction of the front-end investment required by gateway solutions. This can be accomplished by integrating voice DS-0s into the DSL physical layer bitstream and transferring these DS-0s directly to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) from their central office switch. This approach lets ILECs leverage their existing CO equipment to deliver VoDSL with less latency and without overhead-laden packetization.
