"TOKYO (Nikkei)--Nihon Keizai Shimbun Inc. will change the makeup of the Nikkei 500 Stock Average effective April 3." --Among the stocks to be added to the list are Trans Cosmos and Hikari Tsushin. Guess what index-chasing fund managers will have to buy now... And guess why Trans Cosmos (and Hikari Tsushin et al.) has been so low during the past weeks: some serious clients wanted to do a little buying... Add to this the increasing confidence regarding the Japanese economy, the massive increases of IT spending among major corporations (25% plus this year), the end of window-dressing for March's end of the Japanese financial year, April's maturation of 10-year fixed-term postal-savings etc. -- I am quite confident we are set for a pleasant ride.
