hmmm, I don't know enough about CREE to comment on that, but I do know about Channel lights, what they mean are store front signs you see all over the place. I have never had one break on me in 14 years in three different locations. If it cost less to buy, last longer, and cost less to run, then it's cool, if not then it's not. greg
