Re: "What good does it do for the long-term investors, for you to report your daytrading activities.....You've mistimed Valence 4 or 5 times now...."

What good does any post here do for anybody who is a long term investor? Why not just buy the stock and forget it if u r a long term investor? Why read message boards at all?

I read SI because a lot of people here follow companies very closely and provide summaries and links that save a lot of time searching and show up articles from diverse sources that I would otherwise never find. You also get to find out who is worth paying attention to.

For those of us who are more responsible about looking after our assets, it is useful to keep up to date with changes in the company circumstances. These can often be reflected in the stock price before we get to know about them. Following Zeev's turnips for VLNC buy sell points is more profitable than buying VLNC and holding long term, if you are willing to take the time to make the trades and follow the charts.

Even if you miss a couple of points as the stock moves up from one channel to the next, you can put your money to good use elsewhere in the meantime, and sleep soundly knowing you are not going to suffer from drifting from the top to the bottom of the trading channel.

Is it a crime to mistime VLNC trading? I would say you have "mistimed" getting out at the top of a short term range many more times than 4 or 5.

So let's all continue to post useful info about developments both within the company and within the stock action. Pay attention, you might find a close correlation and add another string to your investing bow that can improve your bottom line.
