The bill allowing internet wagering on the race track in New Orleans, the Fairgrounds, did pass the Louisiana Senate by a comfortable margin. It had previously passed the House. So Louisiana becomes the tenth state in the U.S. to allow internet horserace wagering.

The primary motivation was "keeping money in the state" rather than internet horserace wagers having to bet at out of state websites, as they had to do prior.
