I was talking with a friend at work last week re: taxes. He raised an interesting thought. He made decent money in his taxable account in 1999 and now must decide what to sell in order to meet the tax burden on April 15th. I
wonder how many other people out there are in the same boat. He said there is no way he can pay his taxes unless
he unloads positions and that he wants to remain fully invested in 2000.>>>>

Actually I can feel his pain. I just had a painful experience coming away from my accountant. I'm getting blasted this year all from stock trading. I guess that's what you get for selling semi capex and others early instead of holding them and let them triple again<g> I'm also a bit boxed in with this SPY short position and others that would be a problem if they all went against me. Anyway my GNMA is contributing to this tax burden, just had a rally, and I think I have a loss in it. Think I may be making a redemption call to Vanguard Monday.
