Betty, in addition to what you posted, in the x-ray area, I believe that NanoTomography using the JMAR x-ray source will be a much shorter time frame (perhaps this year or next). And other uses such as for cancer and ageing. See press release: businesswire.com
Also this year, we should see the FIFO chip introduction, the start of Network Processors (introduced in 2001), possible x-ray alliances to do projects on the multiple applications of the PXS x-ray source, and a pick up at JPSI which has finally turned the corner. This info from the recent release tells the tale of a much improved JPSI for 2000:
``For example, under our next generation 'electronic packaging`` initiative at JPSI we are currently developing a class of innovative, high-throughput inspection systems for the microelectronics industry. We expect these new products will enable the production of much smaller, higher density semiconductor packages based on 'flipchip`` bonding assembly technology. That technology is expected to replace much of the wire-bonding packaging techniques that have been used throughout the industry for many years.'
1999 was a transition year from old to new for JMAR. JPSI was revamped, JSI almost tripled revenues, and x-ray made some major breakthroughs. |
