Tinker: Wi-lan is an interesting case. The technology does show possibilities as does the similar approach of Cisco.

Mike has always been specific in characterizing Qualcomm as a CDMA gorilla, with the proviso that it might become the "wireless" gorilla but is not there yet.

I suggest that a discussion of Qualcomm as a wireless gorilla candidate, for wireless broadly defined, would be interesting, since I see its situation with regard to data and the wireless / internet (intranet) nexus as paramount. But we will not really be sure about this until next year IMO. So I would say that Qualcomm is a gorilla in CDMA as Mike does, but add that seems to me that it is a gorilla candidate for wireless more broadly defined.

Wi-lan has enough possibilities that I have tried to follow it as closely as I can, but that is difficult.

I would appreciate a discussion of Wi-lan in the context of wireless broadly and in relation to Qualcomm specifically.

Look forward to discussing this area with you if you wish.

Best.
