Ironic thing is CNET is one of the biggies in ad revenues and here they have this blocker! -g-

But you are right about something happening with ads. We should look into what current trends are in click throughs and how the ad revenue charges really work in various companies.

I use DejaNews to get on the usenet boards and they have changed the way they do business. Loaded the system with so many ads that it bogged down the response so bad that you were careful whose messages you would look at. With this ad blocker it is like a jet on afterburners. -g-

If this catches on in a wide spread fashion, I suspect inuts will come up with new schemes like you have to load the ads to access the site, just like New SI did with cookies.

BTW, how do you purge all cookies without screwing up the sites you need to visit, like SI?
