Bruce, re MSFT, thx for posting Geoffrey Moore's GG list post. One Q for all...do MSFT's extensive war chest of tech investments present an asset that help mitigates any status or perception as a "contained gorilla"?

I just happened to read this from Red Herring, many likely have seen already (Jan 2000) but remarks certainly relevant: redherring.com

And the actual "containment" may not be announced another 2 years by Judge Jackson. It will probably be that long before announcing penalties to Microsoft, assuming the case is ruled against them, and assuming there are no further efforts to settle the case. The case is likely to then go to the Supreme Court, all this from the front page news piece in today's paper (Boston Globe, page 1). Bottom line, it will be years before a "cage" of any sort is built to "contain" MSFT the gorilla...

Cheers
Mike
