Not sure if pagan, would ever enter my thoughts to describe the native americans or their sacred rituals as living men and women.... it being a latin word. Though they certainly did/do live in the country, and pagan is just a word deformed into a slander....by those who felt superior.
what god was to jesus , and is to you and me, as it is /was for them...is a matter for those who have the eyes to see... and the ears to hear....the kingdom of heaven is spread all around, but for those who refuse to see... and hear.
God is just a word for that which is formless and beyond words, or religions yet contained in all the hearts of men. Totally transcends good and evil.
~Beauty before me....beauty behind me...beauty beside me, and beauty above me...we are all on the pollen path. All is on the pollen path ~
*Navajo Warrior's chant when he was feeling the "oneness" with the great spirit.
may you be one with your great spirit today....certainly enough gifted teachers and saviors died for our right to know...peace? Tolerance? Compassion? Love of your brothers whom ever they be? And the sacred earth?
Oh, but for some that last thought is deemed "pagan".... give me a god who can dance... and that god within I will follow.
Ofcourse Jesus took it even further and said love thine enemies...not very demanding , was he? But in the end there ceases to be enemies thru understanding in the world. What difficult times to have been living...back then.
