2MAR$, I hope I didn't misunderstand your reference to "pagan". Since it was in response to lorrie's mention of a rain dance, I assumed you were referring to Native Americans.
I, truly, appreciate your words and thoughts. The difficulty in living for the Native Americans only began with the arrival of the white Europeans on a quest for gold and land. The natives had no concept of the ownership of land. To them, the land was a gift from God, as were the mountains, streams, and game animals. After a hunt, they always thanked God for His bounty. The main problem was the difference in the form of worship between the native and the white man. When Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce was asked why he did not want churches among his people, he replied " because they will teach us to argue about God." And the white man called him a savage. Ironic, isn't it?
