Most all organized religions condemn value for value placing a "higher spiritual cause" as the true morality. Altruism is the definition of a species on its way to becoming extinct. The entire modern world was built on capitalism which rewards the incentive to explore, to innovate, to GROW. Altruism seeks containment, regression, and to reward those who are incompetent, needy, parasitical, or just plain lazy.

A few small stoppers have been used to abate the surge of PP pressure. Most of these have been sleezed out of, or around, to maintain the fundamental rottenness of the switch from value to PP's. We are slowly sinking ourself. There will be a point when then the vectors cannot continue to clash.
The United States became great, rich and powerful by being free and having a government controlled by its own people. As all our freedoms diminish, so will our greatness. If the trends of the last 80 years continue unabated, the USA will eventually become a third world country -- surpassed by other countries whose citizenry enjoys greater liberty and greater freedoms.
