What sparked your interest in CRK?

In all honesty I have to give the credit to my mom for this one. She was one of the unfortunate who purchased in the low teens way back when (she also unloaded most of it on the way down, then stocked up in the 2 range ;)). Because of her, I've been watching it. Finally jumped in about a year ago (I am almost to my long term capital gains date! ... so I won't be selling until that date anyway) because it was really really low, because they have actual stuff in the ground they can sell (as opposed to my techs which depend on selling code), and because excitement and momentum about higher oil prices looked good for the upcoming year.

I kinda agree about your blue star guess. I would have thought that even the people at the hole (sorry, at the well) don't know how good it is until they finally start producing.

Clearly this is not a tech, but even in the non-tech world TA still applies (at a macro level). It looked to me that we brushed up on the 5 15/16 level with some good strong volume and pulled back on light volume. There is currently momentum in the upward direction and it will take a bout of bad news to stop it for the moment. So I still think we will see 6.

I also feel that the OPEC increase in production will a) not have a very substantial effect on oil prices beyond this point and b) there has already been high enough oil prices all this quarter that all the oil and gas companies will come in with outstanding earnings.

This stock moves in definite cycles. I expect a temporary top towards the end of April beginning of may (after next earnings announcement hype subsides) then dipping back, then one more high at the end of August as the summer air-conditioning season's profits come in. Then back to the dumps for the winter (at which point I plan to be completely out)
