Hi Dale I have also tried to figure out a way of protecting my longterm holdings by hedging strategies but unfortunately don't know where to start.I know you can buy puts and even short stocks but the problem is how do you do it.I am reading this monster book on options by mcmillan but instead of making it easy it has made it more complicated and difficult.I have just filled out my margin facility request and send it in.I think tekboys post was very honest and good as far as things to keep in perspective. I will be really interested to know if you find any strategy that works and will vice-versa Pm you if I find something.Working on something right now and will let you now when I have a better understanding of it. I believe some of the seasoned GG here are very good at this but I also suspect they have had their share of bumps And have learnt from past mistakes.
