The topic is not the gorilla winning in the long term.If I had doubts about that, I would not be investing in them.The discussion is that many people invest as LTB&H,however they use a various of other tools in the form of options and shorts to protect their capital appreciation.Many of the elders on this thread, do use these tools due to the fact that they have been investing much longer and have seen it before.Maybe there is no such a thing as the perfect strategy but I personally feel that,I need to learn all the tools or at least have some knowledge about them before I dismiss them in order to be prepared better going forward.This market is turning out to be a great learning experience.
