We already know that ICEA will be the lead sponsor broker, and Tai Fook will serve as co-lead sponsor broker for the GEM IPO.

I am assuming that everyone noticed in the recent news release . . .

A total of $5-million (U.S.) has been committed from institutional investors including the following:

SEG's Hong Kong listing Sponsor & Underwriter, ICEA Capital Limited, a subsidiary of Industrial Commercial Bank of China (ranked as the third largest bank in the world in 1998

Of course your lead sponsor broker and partner buying shares is a huge vote of confidence and was great to see in the release.

However I did however notice that Tai Fook did not appear to be an investor in this initial round. Of course being the nosey person I am I contacted the company to find out why I did not see Tia Fook's name in the release. It turns out that Tai Fook does not have an investment banking arm, such as Canaccord, Union Securities or ICEA. Tai Fook only places the shares with their clients and never buys shares for themselves. Capital Alliance only wants to place shares in the proper hands (e.g. Equity funds, Institutions, Insiders) and not in the hands of Tai Fook's general clients. ICEA bought the shares for themselves. However if there was any short fall in the seed capital Tia Fook would take up the slack through their clients. Of course with $8.68-million U.S done, another $2-million U.S reserved for international institutional and overwhelming response for the global investment communities it does not appear that there will be any slack. I guess the Tia Fook clients will have to wait for the IPO <gggg>

Best Regards
KEITH
