(this isn't about stocks either - Heavy post warning)... Blue, yes it's so sad being young and first figuring out that people don't last forever. But perhaps prayers have been answered and he'll get another chance afterall. Because today - heard (thirdhand again) of good news that the young man is alive and in intensive care. Maybe it wasn't even true about what the actual cause was either then, who knows ... the only thing for sure is rumors will be sorted from fact soon enough. The news spread last night from teen to teen originated with adults who saw the ambulance activity while driving by the house and told their kids about it - exactly how exaggerated and distorted the true story got along the way is yet to be revealed.
Some real lessons are here.
Before even hearing this latest, while re-reading my post about it was cringing at my own self-centerdness so dreading the ordeal of being among the people coming together trying to comfort each other and paying respects to the bereaved family. I know am only human feeling this way about the healing rituals of respect around a death, and some folks can take these moments more matter-of-factly than this while other folks can't force themselves to go at all. But just got the wake-up call on how immature and unchristian I truly am to brood on my own phobias and fears at such a more terrible time for other people. Feeling like a real jerk to admit my true inclination is to opt out of any unpleasantness. And this wouldn't be the first time some meditation on self-improvement is needed quick. Only comfort is in knowing we've all been there.
Inpursuit said it right - how Techride can be like a confessional. And not just about portfolio problems either.
We haven't talked for real like this around this board for several months because of some disturbances of it's peace and feeling of talking among friends. Time to start it up again - the whole point of sharing talk about stocks & life.
Unafraid again now of interlopers intruding with some mockery or whatever - which has truly been so inhibiting. Let's hope it lasts. We do keep on trying, don't we. Why? Because living one's life in such a way so others feel treasured as well, is the greatest gift...
909S TO ALL,
JOANA
