There is no question that we should support all people to choose a path that most optimizes their pursuit of happiness. Our society definitely does this. The term social equity as you have used it, however, agendizes the role of women to a "right" course. Social equity in light of the traditional role of wife and mother gives females a sphere of power that is compatible and complimentary to the traditional male role of protector and provider. Don't you find it interesting that you started out to define maleness and are bogged down here. My guess is we wont get away with this. Good luck.
