Network Briefing US ROBOTICS' LANLINKER DUAL MODEM US Robotics has launched a new SOHO router the LANLinker Dual Analogue integrates two US Robotics x2 modems in one enclosed unit, giving users unparalleled speed and routing functionality over regular analogue phone lines. According to US Robotics the combination provides the LANLinker Dual Analogue with near-ISDN speed LANLinker features STAC, Microsoft and Ascend compression; PAP, CHAP and RADIUS security; LAN-to-LAN spoofing; Flash ROM for future software upgrades; and Access Manager, a GUI-based remote management and configuration tool. LANLinker BRI offers users access to the corporate network and the Internet over an ISDN connection; LANLinker 56 allows access over a Frame Relay or dedicated PPP connection. Each version of LANLinker features multi-protocol support, including IP, IPX and Appletalk. The LANLinker BRI costs $795 and the LANLinker 56 $995.
