That depends on who owns the link. If a more progressive LEC (CLEC or ILEC) was to utilize the technology and then lease the access, the same way they would fiber today, then yes you could still have multiple ISP's making use of it. That is probably a less likely scenario though, simply because of the economics of it, you could probably finance your own link more cost effectively than leasing it from them. There is the proximity issue however, you still need to be close enough to either your next "wireless hop" or to a "friendly" fiber gateway or to your own Central Office (CO) or Point of Presence (POP) to employ the technology. There are all sorts of possibilities when you consider the hybrid options, both in technologies and in vendors/carriers.
