shamsaee, Many of the elders on this thread, do use these tools due to the fact that they have been investing much longer and have seen it before. I don't have the experience a lot of people do, but the reason I don't use those tools is because that's not how I want to use my time -- the hedging tools can be very time-consuming -- and ironically, because I have seen it before. My portfolio was down 45% for the year in October 1998. As of the close of Friday it had grown about seven-fold since that low. The last time I added a new company to my portfolio was exactly one year ago as of tomorrow. Anyone wanna guess which one? :) There are lots and lots of ways to make money in the market. --Mike Buckley
