I think he was referring to the blue pill in the movie "the matrix".. The red one (the one keanau reeves took) propelled him out of the fantasy world and into a harsh reality. The blue pill, if he had taken it, would have allowed him to remain blissfully ignorant of what was actually happening, and left him in his dream world.
