Yes, but can you do it in an actual post? you are right SI is HTML friendly but they pre-process posts and if you try to put in an <IMG> tag they insert other tags and split it up so that it is no longer valid HTML and will not show the picture. Putting a picture in the profile is cake, putting a picture in a post is the impossible part. (Unless you are craftier than anyone else has been)
