Excuse me for interrupting, but I think you may be missing an important point. These new memory technologies would not look any different than flash to the consumer. They could be packaged in CF, MMC, or whatever form factor is desired and would provide non-volatile storage. So your argument of moving to something else really isn't valid. It would just be a different brand CF. If CF wasn't an open architecture than I would tend to agree with you. Look what happened to the IBM pc.
