Jim Barksdale (former CEO of Netscape) was just interviewed on CNN. When asked about a potential suit by Netscape against MSFT, he responded that that decision will rest with AOL.

Is there any doubt such a suit will ensue?

And so, the floodgates of litigation begin to open. Judge Jackson's conclusions of law are just the tip of this iceberg. Watch this thing snowball. Apparently, over 100 civil actions already have been filed against MSFT.

Gates is going to become a perennial witness. He has little credibility, imho, as demonstrated in his deposition testimony. He's the perfect target witness in multiple suits against MSFT. With all his billions he will soon realize he's quite vulnerable. I think we'll begin to see a more humble, less arrogant Gates in the forthcoming months.

McNealy will have a field day. I'll bet he's partying tonight. Personally, though, I hope he exercises some restraint and doesn't gloat too much.
