Very useful for a trading indicator. However, seems like it will always be misleading when a stock undergoes a change in the fundamentals.

For example, a company reports that it is likely to go bankrupt. I assume that the stock will show as oversold right up until it hits zero?

I would not consider the overbought indicator to be a sound reason to sell AMD at this point.
