Now, Enact 4 delivers seamless integration with PDA devices to manage their tasks even when they're away from their desks. Project team members can now download, edit and add information and synchronize their task lists bi-directionally allowing complete portability and flexibility. The first PDA devices supported are the 3Com PalmPilot and Handspring Visor.
Enterprise Scalability
Enact 4's enterprise server scales to thousands of users across hundreds of projects. The new release supports industry standards such as LDAP, Java and HTML, and has extended database support, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
Secure Accessibility
Enact 4's new Tunneling feature will allow large companies to collaborate on projects through company firewalls providing connectivity across the Internet for users who are on-the-go or located outside a corporation's Intranet. This feature will also allow for hosted solutions and for integration into B2B portals, for example.
Proactive Project Planning & Reporting
Enact 4 promotes forward-looking project management through real-time collaboration. Enact 4's Critical Path feature shows the series of critical tasks that must be completed on schedule for the whole project to finish on time. The new Email Notifications capability provides an early warning system for the project planner to know about project changes instantly. The new release's SQL database support for Oracle and MS SQL Server allows project planners to generate sophisticated, up-to-the-minute reports on their projects with standard SQL report writers.
An Open Architecture
