When I was with Hutton they had two separate sets of analysts, one for institutional clients, and a separate group of analysts for retail. I was on the institutional side and would interface with the institutional "Buy side analysts" and sometimes portfolio managers. My only concern then was getting my Buy/Sell recommendations accurate, and getting them to the Street first. I tried to remain independent from Hutton's investment banking relationships.

But that is beside the point, I'm really looking for your opinion on IBM here and if you come to the same conclusions as me.
