As a former stock broker I can remember when the margin department would liquidate.. I believe it was in the early afternoon. However, even before this carnage several analysts were calling for lower numbers in the nasdaq..most notably...JP Morgan's technical analyst was calling for 3200. The trouble with markets these days is that it seems target numbers are met quickly whether it's an upgrade for a stock or a downgrade. I have to believe that we are entering a bear market that is going to last several months if not years, and it is going to be a lot harder for anyone to make money in this type of market.
