Young: I agree that "the Zip is far more valuable in a laptop than a 1.44 FD. " I simply state that the LS-120 has an advantage over the Zip in the laptop market.

That advantage will be countered by the Zip becoming the standard megafloppy on the PC. This will decrease the utility of the LS-120's ability to read 1.44 floppies.

I do not forsee software distribution on Zip disks any time soon. Rather, CDs will continue to be the major medium, with the Internet comming up fast into second place.

I expect to see plug-in Zip drives for laptops by the end of the year. When you buy a laptop, you will be able to choose amoung plug-in FD, Zip, CD-ROM, and an extra battery.
