I agree nothing much will happen until they announce a state contract, but I'm not so sure they'll need positive earnings. Remember this is a "new, new thing" stock where hope springs eternal, at least for a while. If it catches on with the normal short term traders and gets noticed by a few cowardly analysts (who always wait for a move up before sticking their necks out) and then falls in with the momentum players, it is conceivable we could shoot well into the hundreds.

But, if ELOT gets the % that the corner quicky mart gets for selling tickets, profits should come. Also their overhead will be much lower. Also, one of their recent press releases said they will use ad revenues to kick back to the states in the form of lower commissions. There must be some ban on states receiving this money directly. So they are counting on ad revenues.

I just went down to the corner quicky mart myself to buy a lotto ticket. The internet will make lotto purchases even more impulsive. Legalization of out of state lotto purchases over the web could boost revenues for the states. Imagine how much more interest there would be for ticket buyers if you could scan a list on the net of all the state lotto current jackpots and their odds and then pick one, all without leaving your home. State lottery sales have already suffered due to the Powerball. State lotto commissions and their bosses--the governor and the legislature-- are real whores for the revenues.

What I said about the lack of venture capital support is probably a significant factor in ELOT's performance to date. How do hot IPO's get hot without the venture capital /brokerage analysts' spin? God only knows what most of these tech IPO's actually do.
