What do you base your fear sentiment on? Is it SI? 500+ points down tells me that there was fear. There are plenty of people on SI that bought the dip and this may be a sign that there isn't enough fear, but I would suggest that the SI sample set is perhaps not representative of the "market" or of the "masses". And I totally agree with you on the "masses would follow" comment. In order for the big boys to buy at the bottom, somebody has to sell.....and that is the "masses" that you speak of.
