GST, "China is a big place with some big emerging opportunities" I don't argue that, I am just saying it's probably late for that type of internet companies that focus on China/Taiwan/Hongkong to IPO here. The most logical sense is to try to IPO in Hong Kong, not Shanghai. Do you know how hot the IPO is for Tom.com in Hong Kong ? And many people don't even know what they're doing, including me. :))) To IPO in Hong Kong, you need to have a headquarter in Hong Kong, of course you can have office in Shanghai, Bejin, Taipei, etc... And a lot of programmers in China are willing to work in Hong Kong, and cheap too. :) As of whether I'm interested, I can tell you this: that's why I have had a "expensive" lunch today to meet with some potential investors. But I'm not in software though, I'm a IC guy. I know quite a few software/hareware start-ups during my two years working in a IC design house in HK under Hong Kong Industrial Technology Center's incubator program. And you know what, one of the start-up has product which is similar to EFAX, that's like 5-6 years ago and they'll probably sell the company to you for only 2M. :))) |
